Open Burn Dates Set

leaves   Fire Chief Mike Hillman has set the Fall 2017 Open Burning dates for the City of Oelwein to begin
Saturday, October 14th and continue until Sunday, November 19th at midnight. This period is set
aside for the open burning of yard waste, limbs, leaves and garden waste, on the property in which it grew.
Care should always be taken that you have a hose set up by the fire. Windy days must be avoided.
Also remember it is never legal to burn furniture, garbage, building materials, and plastic.
