Wastewater Facility

New Wastewater Facility

The new wastewater facility in the foreground is performing extremely well. It is easily surpassing or effluent permit requirements. We are also noting a sizeable reduction in operating costs versus the old facility.

The storm water storage facility that has replaced the old facility in the background has been put to the test. We are glad to announce that we easily kept up with the increased flows. We did have one raw sewage release during the rain event. However it was not due to the new facilities but a hydraulically overloaded pipe. In fact this problem was discovered because of the new facilities ability to move so much more water.
The City will be addressing the pipe capacity issue.

We are developing quite a natural habitat area. There are several types of wildlife that live here or visit. The prairie grass and wild flower have been planted and flowers are popping up all over the site. The wetland renovation is coming to completion. One would think they are in a park instead of a wastewater facility.

We would gladly give guided tours of our new facilities. Contact us at 283-1413 Mon – Fri from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
