Oelwein Yard Waste Site

The Oelwein Yard Waste Site is strictly for Oelwein Residents!

Hours: The site is open all day - everyday.
Location: The Yard Waste Site is located to the south of 460 Seventh Ave SW in the Public Works Complex.
Cost: There is a $.30 cent monthly fee which is billed on Resident's City Water Bill.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

Tree limbs, brush and stumps in one area -

Plants, grass and leaves in another.

(Please do not leave your plastic bag or container)

ALL OTHER ITEMS ARE UNACCEPTABLE!

The dumping of unacceptable items is illegal and punishable by fine and loss of dumping priveleges.

Dumpers are subject to random load inspectionsl

TO KEEP THE SITE EASILY ACCESSIBLE - PLEASE REPORT ILLEGAL DUMPERS TO THE OELWEIN POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 319-283-4311

The Oelwein Yard Waste Site is managed by the Utility Department. If you would like more information, please contact the Utility Department.

The Utility Department is located at 460 Seventh Ave SW in the Public Works Complex. Our hours are from 7:00 am to 12:00 and 12:30 to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. For water or sewer questions during working hours call (319) 283–1197. For billing questions or to schedule work appointments call City Hall at (319) 283-5440 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. For water or sewer emergencies, after working hours, on weekends or holidays, call 283-4311.
